The short answer: the Dexas MudBuster Medium fits an entryway routine for muddy paws when you have water, a towel, and a dog willing to place a paw in the cup. Earth Rated Unscented Grooming Wipes, 100 count fit a quicker surface wipe-down after an ordinary walk or while away from home. They solve related problems, but neither replaces every part of the other’s routine.

We haven’t tested these products head to head. This comparison uses manufacturer guidance, current US product listings, and independent owner discussions.

Why these are timely—not automatically seasonal winners

At our September 8 Amazon check, Earth Rated’s standard unscented 100-wipe listing displayed 40K+ bought in the past month; the Dexas Medium Blue listing displayed 400+. Those are retailer purchase indicators for the displayed listings, not search-volume figures or a fair market-share comparison between an entire wipe category and one cup variant.

For a September household reset, the useful theme is the after-walk routine. A dog comes back through the door, a baby needs attention, and the clean towel is somehow in another room. You can solve much of that by planning a cleanup station before buying anything.

If you already own a suitable dog towel and have a simple water-cleanup routine that works, you may not need either product. This guide is for deciding what gap—if any—a cup or a disposable wipe would fill.

Exact versions in this comparison

The MudBuster link is for Medium, Blue, the ordinary open-top cup rather than the separately named lidded version. Dexas’s product page describes silicone bristles inside a tumbler and lists the Medium cup at about 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide.

The wipe link is for Earth Rated Unscented, 100 standard grooming wipes. The manufacturer’s product page and FAQ list standard wipes at 8 by 8 inches. Earth Rated also sells larger wipes and separate eye or ear products, so do not apply their sizes or instructions to this pack.

Those distinctions matter because retailer pages combine colors, quantities, and sometimes related product types. Directions for a separate eye wipe do not apply to a standard body wipe. A picture of a travel lid does not put a lid in the ordinary MudBuster box.

MudBuster: water plus a paw-sized cleaning space

Dexas’s basic method is to add a little water, insert a paw, gently twist the cup, remove the paw, and dab it dry. The silicone bristles provide contact around the paw while the water carries loosened dirt. This is a manual tool: the adult controls the cup and must still handle the dog comfortably.

The use case is a dog returning from wet grass or a muddy patch with dirt around the paws. It is not a full-body bath in miniature. If mud reaches the belly or much of the coat, decide whether a proper wash is needed instead of expecting a cup to handle areas that do not fit inside it.

You also need a place to empty the dirty water and clean the cup afterward. Include that in the comparison. A tool can make the paw-cleaning step convenient without making the entire cleanup disappear.

Wipes: a portable surface-cleaning option

Earth Rated’s standard grooming wipes are pre-moistened pet wipes intended for paws, body, and the rear area. A sealed pack is easier to carry than an open cup of water, and you do not need to find a tap just to take one wipe out.

That makes the format worth considering for a light wipe-down before the dog gets back in the car or after an ordinary neighborhood walk. It does not prove that one wipe can remove every kind of soil from four paws. Change to a clean wipe as needed and follow the package directions rather than spreading visible dirt with the same used surface.

Use the standard product only on the areas its label permits, avoiding direct eye contact and the inside of ears. Unscented does not mean plain water or a guarantee against an individual reaction. If your dog has a skin concern, ask your veterinarian about an appropriate grooming routine before adding a new product.

The muddy-yard scenario

Picture a dog waiting just inside the back door after digging in a damp yard. If your dog is comfortable with a paw cup and the size is suitable, the MudBuster gives the adult a defined water-cleaning step. Put the towel down before starting; otherwise a newly wet paw simply continues the trail indoors.

One adult should focus on the dog. Keep the baby in an appropriate separate supervised area rather than holding the baby and trying to control a cup, wet paw, and towel together. A paused cleanup is preferable to turning the doorway into a balancing exercise.

Pack pet supplies separately from infant supplies. An unmarked pile of similar-looking wipe packs is easy to confuse when you are distracted. A dedicated pet pouch with a towel and dog wipes makes the distinction visible to every caregiver, not just the person who packed the bag.

Close the wipe pack properly and put used wipes in the trash. Do not leave them loose in the stroller basket or on a bench where the dog can take them. Check the pack’s storage instructions before leaving it in a hot parked car.

Owners in a 2026 paw-cleaner discussion repeatedly describe the Dexas MudBuster helping with mud trapped around furry paws. A puppy-owner account also describes using it after muddy outings. These are different dogs and sometimes unspecified cup sizes, not a performance test of the Medium Blue version.

The remaining work is also repeated: empty the water, dry the paws, and help the dog become comfortable with the routine. In a separate paw-washer discussion, owners who like the MudBuster still mention the time needed for towel drying. Some participants in the 2026 discussion prefer a plain towel instead. That is a practical tradeoff, not evidence that one approach suits every dog.

Rehearse voluntary paw handling with the towel within reach and a place to refresh dirty water. Do not copy unverified soap recipes from discussion comments; Dexas’s basic instructions use water. An owner’s enthusiasm is not a reason to force a reluctant dog. If handling appears painful or there is a skin concern, ask your veterinarian rather than treating the cup as therapy.

What owners like about Earth Rated wipes

In Yorkie owners’ wipe discussion, several participants recommend Earth Rated, including unscented users who keep packs for outings. A poodle-owner discussion also includes users who choose the unscented wipes for routine paw cleanup. That supports portability as a real use case, not a claim that every dog needs disposable wipes after every walk.

Replacement cost is the repeated caveat across these discussions. Some satisfied users still describe the wipes as pricey; others prefer a dedicated damp cloth and towel for frequent cleaning. Comments span different scents and quantities, so we are not assigning a cost or performance score to today’s 100-count pack from those accounts.

For an adult also supervising a baby, prepare the wipe before handling the dog and reseal the pack afterward as Earth Rated directs. Do not buy on a promise of effortless one-handed use that our research cannot guarantee. Likewise, owner reports about a dog’s skin are not proof that the formula treats an allergy or infection. We do not repeat discussion advice that substitutes human wipes or unverified remedies for the product’s own instructions.

Size, replacement cost, and the routine you will keep

Measure the dog’s paws and confirm the current Dexas size guidance before choosing Medium. Overall body weight and breed labels are not reliable substitutes for fit. The cup has an upfront purchase cost plus water, towel washing, and tool cleaning. Wipes need regular replacement. For a simple budget estimate, two wipes per outing and two outings a day uses four wipes daily; a 100-count pack would last about 25 days at that exact rate. Some dogs need more and some less.
